 | Mr. XE.MAIL: mrx@xbox1.com Earlier this year(2002) I was struck by a kind of revelation that I put too much of my life into work and took everything too seriousely. One of the changes I made was the purchase of the Xbox and I'm in love with it. Don't get me wrong, I grew up around the Atari 2600, ColecoVision and Sega Game systems, I just never owned one for myself.
I am committed to the full-time update and expansion of this site. I believe the Xbox gaming experience is the best out there and offers the best graphics, sound capabilities, storage options, on-line gaming options, controllers, etc. Life’s too short for stressing so put a little fun into your life, get an Xbox if you haven't already and join the growing crowd.

 | LorealE.MAIL: loreal@xbox1.com My challenge is to keep in communication with the different developers and other sources of news. I'm also the one that handles financial, price updates, spelling and grammar, plus a bunch of other non-appreciated items of this site.
If you are a developer or news source please contact me.

Welcome:
Welcome Xbox lovers and Xbox haters alike. We want to take a quick moment to point out that the views and opinions stated on this Website are of our staff. They do not in any way reflect the views of Microsoft or any other company mentioned within the site.
Dedication:
This site, Xbox1, is dedicated to the most powerful and versatile gaming console device ever created. For those of you who are not aware of the fact, it’s the Xbox created by Microsoft. For those of you saying “ooh, yuck, Microsoft” read the next section.
Microsoft Haters:
For those of you with the “I hate Microsoft” attitude I believe I know your position and reasoning. It’s because they are “trying to take over the world” right? Well, lets analyze this for a moment. If you created an operating system, which is simply a program, that was used by nearly 80% of the computing world you would be “the largest software manufacturing company around or close to it” right?
You would then have the most widely copied program ever created since pirating is one of the biggest Internet industries around next to porno. Right? Well, you would then take many efforts to reduce the piracy and increase your profits. Right? Well, I hope you know where I am going with this. I’m trying to say that you, if you owned MS, would protect your investment and create these protection schemes, “EULA” agreements, etc, things that people call “unfair”, “evil”, etc. When the Internet came along and browsers were “free” you would have then integrated one into your product too right? Now, follow along to the next section because you have had your focus of anger and hatred on the wrong group for a while.
There’s a war taking place:
Yes, it’s a war, a console war to sell and dominate the world. The gaming industry is about to surpass the profit margins created by the multi-billion dollar a year movie industry. I want to point out that MS is not the one to be afraid of here it’s Sony. Yes, Sony. Sony is everywhere, it’s in our living room with the PS1, PS2, DVD players, boom boxes, laptop computers, desktop computers, television sets, walkmans, movie productions and studios, music productions and studios, software, digital/analog cameras and so many other things that it’s overwhelming. Does anyone see the light yet?
Sony is the true “evil” that everyone is saying MS is suppose to be. They are the ones with the Monopoly in all sectors of our life, not just one. To add salt to the wound, they’re dominating the U.S.A. from over seas! Why hasn’t that been obviously clear to those PS2 supporters and Xbox haters here in the states? Why isn’t it a frightening thing to wake up every day and see how much of the world is being owned by Japan? I can say these things without prejudice as I am half Japanese and was born in Tokyo. Why has everyone stopped being proud of an American company that they use most every day of their life whether it’s at work, home, by the person on the other end of the phone line, on the other side of the Internet, by the doctors at the hospital, by the person booking your flight reservations or whatever.
Sabotage:
Not only is the line drawn there but I find an extremely hard and heavy line of sabotage coming from many places. First, in my local stores here in California I find several Xbox units each day with something wrong. I don’t mean hardware failure but from things such as someone changing the language to “Spanish” or “French” and then turning the CD upside down!!! I’ve found units with the video connection disconnected or the TV display turned off. I’ve found a unit with razor blade cuts in the controller cable rendering the controls useless. I’ve found chat rooms for the Xbox community where PS2, GC owners have come in and set very large seeds of negativity by pretending to support the Xbox. Boy, there are some pretty loyal PS2, GC lovers out there which reinforces my point that there is a war going on. And if we don’t fight, we lose.
How you can help in the war:
Well, glad you asked as you have been inducted as a soldier in the war. Here is a short list of items that you can do to help:
- Stand up for Microsoft because that is the main stance that all PS2 and GC lovers use. Educate them in the truth of how Sony is the true “evil” that they think MS is and why. See “There’s a war taking place”.
- If you see a downed Xbox store unit for whatever reason, see if you can fix it yourself quickly. Ie. Turn the monitor on, check that the CD is in right, if you can reach it, etc.
- If you cannot fix the Xbox store unit yourself then ask an employee to do something about it. If the employee is unwilling or cannot then ask a store manager. It’s simple and in fact, Best Buy has a policy that they will replace it so you can try it.
- If they do not fix the unit within so many days call 1-800-FIX-XBOX. They can get the unit fixed or get the information to the right people.
- Spread the word that you Love your Xbox and that it is the most powerful game console available today. Words mean a lot to those who are deciding. It’s amazing how many people I overhear mention the Xbox and I’m then overwhelmed to introduce myself. Heck, why not?
- Get one of our or other Xbox site T-Shirts and wear it proudly.
- Return the attack in the chat rooms and bulletin boards. Those supposedly “Xbox” owners that are bad mouthing the unit need to be revealed as the true “PS2” and “GC” lovers that they are. Fight back and hit hard with the truth.
- When you see or hear ignorance about how the Xbox is the most underpowered system out there be ready to come back with the truth. See how to fight back. They are so programmed to “bash” and put down the Xbox and you need to be just as programmed to put them in their place.
- When a Website offers multiple links such as “PS2”, “GameCube”, “Xbox” please click on the Xbox link and follow a few sub links from there. Most all Websites can determine who is visiting what pages. If you up the volume going to the Xbox locations the site may change the order of the buttons and eventually put the Xbox as the first link. This sends a signal that we are important and are interested in our product. Heck, even typing “Xbox” into your search engine of choice matters. They keep a log of how many people type Xbox, PS2, GameCube and release this information to the public.
- Each week we will bring to you the “News from the War Room” and will list three links that you can visit such as K-Mart, Best Buy, Universal Studios, etc. If 10,000 viewers to this site visit each link as listed each week, these stores will NOT be able to ignore the support coming from Xbox. Working together we WILL make a difference and you can quickly see how our united effort works.
- E-mail some different game developers and request games that you would like to see ported or developed on the Xbox. Games such as “Tomb Raider” or “Grand Theft Auto3” would be nicer on the Xbox. Let them know that.
- Call up some of your local game retailer stores and ask them about what has just come out for the Xbox this month. This will reaffirm with the retailers that there is definite interest in the Xbox. I just called 4 stores asking about Bruce Lee for the Xbox. I also moved some of the copies in front of GameCube and PS2 displays in key areas for maximum viewing.
- Last, I’d love to see the same sabotage methods used on the Xbox returned to the other display consoles but would never condone it. Let’s fight fair even if they do not. Plus, it’s a crime to destroy public/store property so don’t even think about it.
Our Pledge:
We at Xbox1 will keep you updated with weekly news and updates from the “War Room”. We will put all of our effort and might in bringing you the daily latest, greatest news and information. We’re also proud to say that we don’t own and are not affiliated with any PS, PS2, GC sites like many of the other Xbox Websites are. They’ve muddied the boundaries and are not TRUE 100% Xbox lovers. You can be confident that our goals are not skewed or swayed by other systems.
You bought your Xbox because you had to make a choice between the three major units. We understand and will now serve side by side with you in the trenches. We are Xbox1 and we won’t stop even when Xbox is #1.
Our Moto:
There’s a war going on out there in the gaming industry and we’re not here to lose.
Summary:
Together we can all make a huge difference. All of our voices and efforts do help and one day we will win this war. Look at all of the good things: Virtually every game that is ported form another console has been enhanced for the Xbox, Xbox has the most powerful CPU of the three, it has the most powerful graphics chip, it has the most powerful sound system, it has the most memory of the three, it has a hard drive that the others don’t (sorry, you guys will have to purchase a memory card to save your games), it has a 10/100 Ethernet port built in and so many other things that we don’t have the time to mention them. Just keep positive as there are so many exciting Xbox games and products just around the corner. To quote the over quoted Timbuk 3: “the future’s so bright that I got to wear shades”.
Robert Kennedy once said, "Every time a man stands up for an idea that positively influences others, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope...and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of resistance."
Now, go fight the war soldier!
